Europacable @ 2026 European Grids Summit

Thanks to the increased demand visibility – enabled through ENTSO-E – Europe’s cable system manufacturers have the business case to more than double production capacity by 2030. Over 4BN Euro investment commitments are now coming online in an unprecedented way and the industry is hiring and training skilled workforce to meet cable system demand. We now need this visibility to continue beyond 2030. This will allow us to proceed gradually and consistently together with the right visibility to build Europe‘s grids.” stated Marcello Del Brenna, Chair of Europacable Energy Infrastructure Team during the panel discussion on boosting Europe’s grid manufacturing base.

Furthermore, in today’s world, increasing the security and resilience of Europe’s grid infrastructure is paramount. The European industry has both the capacity and technologies to contribute to enhancing Europe’s grid protection.
Last but not least, the definition of a European preference for grid components in public procurement will contribute to increasing long-term visibility for cable system manufacturers and benefit European citizens by boosting Europe’s jobs, wealth and ultimately its social and economic prosperity.
” concluded Mr. Del Brenna.

At the European Grids Summit 2026, which took place in Brussels on 14 April, Europacable brought the voice of Europe’s cable system manufacturers to the discussion on scaling up grid infrastructure and strengthening Europe’s industrial base.
