The key takeaway from WindEurope2026: accelerating wind energy deployment requires ambitious grid expansion.

To accelerate both wind deployment and grid build-out, Europacable supports the three agreed “Madrid principles” (facilitated by TenneT & Siemens Energy) aiming for:

  • Politically and financially backed long-term planning to provide investment certainty
  • Less complex and more functional grid tenders to speed up project delivery
  • Regulatory stability and de-risking of supply chain investments to support industrial capacity

Europacable highlighted that power cables are a critical net-zero technology, enabling the connection of renewable energy and the electrification of Europe’s economy. European cable manufacturers are already investing at scale to deliver cables made in Europe for Europe.

Europacable remains committed to working with partners across the value chain to ensure cables made in Europe powering Europe’s clean energy future.
