Based on the outcome of the first ever European Fire Safety Week has which took place in November 2019, the European Fire Safety Alliance together with Europacable and other relevant stakeholders drafted a 10-action Plan to improve fire safety in residential buildings.
The European Fire Safety Action Plan represents a serious effort to set Europe’s fire safety agenda for the years to come and will be presented at an online event on 29 September.
CPR compliance and market surveillance are key elements of the Plan. In particular, the Plan clearly states that products and systems’ compliance with national and EU standards and regulations, including CPR, is a prerequisite for making Europe safer. At the same time, action n10 under the Plan calls for a “better cooperation between the Member States and industry on market surveillance”.
